Providing support, resources, and opportunities to help single women and teen girls overcome hardships and build a brighter, independent future.
Lady Zinnia’s Inc. is a nonprofit supporting single women and teen girls by helping them gain sustainable employment through untraditional need gaps like proper clothing for interviews, uniforms, and shoes. We also assist in finding resources for utility bills and other support services.
Many women face depression from domestic and financial abuse, often worsened by isolation from abusers who control their resources. Inspired by lived experience, Lady Zinnia’s Inc. raises awareness on supporting survivors without pushing them further into secrecy.
My name is Yolonda McKenzie, a woman from Gary, Indiana. I moved to Minnesota at the age of five and have resided here ever since. A mother of four adult children (two girls and two boys) and a grandmother of eight, I’ve raised my children in Minneapolis until they reached junior high school. I now reside in Blaine, MN.
I am the visionary behind Lady Zinnia's Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering single women with children and teen girls. Our mission is to provide the support, resources, and opportunities necessary to help these individuals overcome hardships and build a brighter, independent future.
